Beginning Project De-Clutter

Where to start...?

Well, I live in a town house style condo that we currently rent.  There is no real yard of any kind, and we have 3 floors in our current home.  The main floor is the middle.  It contains a living room, a full bathroom with a shower, a kitchen/dining room with a large pantry, and a back patio.  There is also a front porch that is very small.  The top floor has three bedrooms with vaulted ceilings, a full bathroom, and a hallway area with a linen closet.  The basement is half finished.  The finished portion contains a laundry room, a hallway, a finished bedroom with no window, and an unfinished storage area with a window well.

When we moved in just over two years ago, I was heavily pregnant with my fourth lil Bug.  I didn't do a lot of the lifting.  Because Baby Bug arrived just 5 weeks after moving in, it took quite some time to really settle in.  Things were moved in kind of a helter skelter fashion.  Now that we're considering buying our first home in the next year, we have time on this lease to de-clutter, and to organize our belongings in a much more orderly fashion.  I'd like to only move what we need, and to do so in an organized sort of way this next time.

And so now begins Operation De-Clutter!

Let me introduce our family:

I'll go by Clutter Bug.  I'm the Mom Supreme around here... the Queen Bee.  I am a stay at home mother extraordinaire.

I'm married to Mr. Bug.  He works full time in the tech field Monday through Friday.  He's an excellent father bug.

Bunder-Bug is our oldest son.  He's 12.
Tater-Bug is our middle son.  He's 10.
Noodle-Bug is our youngest son.  He's 6.5.
Boo-Bug is our youngest and only little girl.  She's an adorable mess of a toddler.

I struggle with some Chronic Fatigue so some days are not so good days, and other days are great days.  I figured I'd write about my progress and share pictures with how it goes, the before and the after.  It will be a motivating factor for me.

The largest mess of all is the basement storage area.  It's a dumping ground of everything that doesn't have a home and in a purely chaotic fashion.  Mr. Bug and I will try to spend an hour each weekend working on that room... more if we can.  The other projects will come one at a time.

And off we go!
